Dear Friends and Family,

We would like to share with you the revised challenging ministry opportunity God has presented to us. At God’s leading our original intention to go to the Dominican Republic (DR) and Haiti with International Youth Initiative (IYI), has been postponed until 2011. We have been released from our initial commitment and will continue communication and relationship with IYI and look forward to working with them in the future. We will always be grateful for the open door they provided for us.

Led by Stan Doll, our team of four will be representing AntiGravitySurf (AGS) which is a beach/surfing ministry all four members of our mission team have been actively involved in. In addition, Dena has been working for a ministry called Eagleswings (EW) and is coordinating efforts with several contacts in, and associated with, ministries in Haiti. EW focuses on domestic abuse healing, prevention of domestic violence and restoration of marriages and families. (For more information on AGS please go to http://www.antigravitysurf.com/index.html and Eagleswings http://www.eagles-wings-ministry.com/)

During our preparation time God has been giving each of the team a deep burden for the people of Haiti; nationals and those in full or semi-permanent ministry there. As time and circumstances progressed it became apparent the resources needed to do both DR and Haiti was not forthcoming. In all fairness to the IYI team and after much prayer we made the call to only go to Haiti.

Much of the financial support for this trip to date had been raised due to the Haiti situation, including when Trevor Williams came to speak at the AGS July 10th beach event. Trevor, a twenty-one year old EMT and mighty man of God, survived the January 12th earthquake and has an awesome testimony which will be posted on our website soon. He shared his heart with us, and we with him and a bond was forged.

As soon as the decision was made financial, and other, resources started to materialize. Trevor has connected us with several people in Port Au Prince who are actively assisting us in finding accommodation. There is a strong likelihood it will be at an orphanage that was featured on CNN a week or so ago if they can fit us in with another group staying at the same time. There is a possibility of a small local guest house if there are vacancies and one of the “in-situ” pastors has offered the church nursery if all else fails! Several specific ministry opportunities have already been presented. We truly feel that God has always had this plan for us; if the funds had come earlier we would have paid for the DR trip and missed His plan!

WE do not have a specific itinery; but GOD does and we will seek His leading on a day by day, hour by hour basis. Praising Him and seeking to shine His Glory wherever we go, so please pray for each day as we only want to go and do what God wants us to.

We have direct contact with two local pastors, a youth pastor, at least one orphanage (Christian, English speaking, run by Americans), a Strategic World Impact connection and the Director of World Vision for Haiti. So we have lots of local/substantial support.

Our goal is to spread the love of Christ to each person we encounter, especially working to develop relationships and share this love with the impoverished, orphaned and traumatized. To love on people in Jesus name who are in major transition and dealing with mass post traumatic stress disorder. We will serve as the local Christian leaders have need in any area, but we are more concerned with the healing of minds, bodies, souls and spirits than buildings! We are expecting to have testimonies of miracles from our trip to share on our return. We desire God to work through us as we develop new relationships with the people we will be staying / ministering with and the Haitian people; with the view to come alongside them for the long haul.

Likely arena’s we will be working in while we are there include: local churches (there is a special program for boys 6 – 12 yrs one week and a teachers training at another we have been invited to). One of our main contacts and guide/translator is a youth pastor so we will be working with his teens ongoing. In orphanages (many children in great need of personal love and attention); hospitals (UN run and others well provisioned, and local facilities in much need of supplies); tent cities in which the potential for ministry is incalculable! God alone knows what, or where else…

We are excited about this opportunity and the experiences that lie ahead. Our heart and passion is to bring glory to our heavenly Father through bringing His healing and restorative power to the broken-hearted. We believe God has been preparing each of us for many years for just such a time as this. Each team member brings his/her specific giftings and experience/expertise to the team.

Financial support for this trip a week out is still needed. Our flights are booked and paid for…we are going…we do not know how much we will need for food and accommodation as those details are yet to be sorted. We would like to go with enough to bless the people and ministries we will be working and staying with; our own comfort is not a concern. We go in faith God will provide all we will need and as He knows what that will be, if you would like to support us please pray and ask God what that should look like…$20 goes a long way in Haiti these days!

Donations can be made through the AGS website where it says “Donate” or contact Stan or Dena for other methods. All contributions are tax-deductible as both ministries have non-profit status, however the AGS site would be more expedient at this late date.

While money is necessary, it comes in a distant second to our need for your prayer and moral support. Prayer is vital to the success of this mission as it is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in Haiti. If you would like to be added to our prayer support team for regular prayer requests and praise reports via email, please email dena.eaglewing@yahoo.com.

In expectation of incredible life-transformation and running to the call,

Stan Doll, Dena Gutierrez, James Arthur and Conner Doll
